The End is where I will Begin

I do couple's readings on a fairly regular basis. Sometimes it's obvious that people want me to tell them that it is Ordained that they stay together forever. Sometimes, it's just one person wanting that, with the other person being less enthusiastic. They've already left, and want permission to leave for real.

Sometimes it's not so obvious that the partnership, if that's what it truly was, has run its course. Then the runes speak, and things become clear. We keep tissue on hand for a reason. They have come at a time when actions have already been taken that have set them on a path leading past the point of retrieving a relationship without a lot of work.

So then what? That is up to the querents. Usually, the runes provide some areas to look at, see what needs doing if going forward is desired. But there are no guarantees. This is why "Past, Present, Possibilities" is my motto. We are variables, we have an effect through our actions.

Hagalaz is a rune of choice. It is often described as a rune indicating sudden change, and the word itself means "Hail". Hail can be damaging, can collect and make travel impossible, can even kill. It's also in a temporary state; it can freeze up, or it can melt and flow back into its water form, becoming nourishing, helpful, bountiful. "Hailseed". It's the ninth rune, there are nine worlds, where are you going to go?

Hagalaz is a good rune to build clarification around. If I choose A, what is likely? If I choose B?

A good question for an ending of a relationship is "What is this relationship turning into?" Friendship? Strangership? What do you want it to be?
