Cold Spell: Repell

This is a spell about boundaries. I know everybody knows it's okay to have boundaries, but I also know not everybody is okay with developing and maintaining them. For whatever reason(s), a lot of us feel mean or otherwise uncomfortable with having them. We can let people walk over them or ignore them. Inside, we build resentment about it - both toward ourselves and those who take advantage.

This spell is taking Othala as a jumping-off point. Othala, the rune of home, both heritage-wise (that which we inherit from past experiences and ancestors), and that which we build.

Things to remember:

1)You do not have to accept every inheritance.

2)You get to move forward.

Things you might want for this: Writing instrument (pen, chalk, crayon, etc), paper or other writing surface (dirt is nice if you're outside), some rocks or small objects you like.

Picture shows a silver dip-pen, and an Othala Rune drawn in green ink
Draw an Othala as big as is necessary to put some things in and around.

The silver pen and Othala Rune are still there. In the enclosed part of the Othala is an amber and silver ring.
Put into the enclosure of the Othala something of value from your past.

Now a spool of yellow thread with a needle is added to the ring.
Add something of value from your now.

A ribbon with some beads is in the "yard" of the Othala Rune.
Place something in the "yard" that represents something you might let in sometimes, but also want to close the door to at others.

The words "Expectation" "Name" and "Navn" are written outside of the Othala, and crossed out.
Outside of the Othala entirely - out in the woods or wilds or desert - AWAY, write the things you want to stay away. Names, Expectations, Things. They are OUT, and must Stay Out. Mark them Out.

There is nothing to incant here. It's all Doing. Do it. If you feel you must say something, which is fine, then describe what you're doing. Tell yourself why - that you deserve the space, both to occupy and to preserve.
